Vacation and December Bonus

Vacation pay 

According to the collective bargaining agreement, members are entitled to a vacation supplement/personal allowance, which is a fixed amount employers are required to pay their employees each May/June. The supplement is based on the employee's job percentage and length of service during the vacation year, includes vacation time, and is not subject to changes under other provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. An earned vacation supplement must be paid out upon termination of employment if it occurs before the supplement's due date.

December supplement 

According to collective bargaining agreements, employers are required to pay their employees a December bonus/personal allowance at the beginning of December each year. The allowance is subject to certain conditions, such as length of service and employment status during the current year. The December bonus/personal allowance must be paid in a single lump sum, and vacation pay is not calculated on top of it. The bonus is a fixed amount in krónur and does not increase under other provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. Employers have until December 15 to pay the December bonus.
